Yellow Forum (Kindergarten)

In Kindergarten (Yellow Forum), our theme is building community and working together.  Our curriculum focuses on each unique student, family, friendship, fall, and pumpkins, respecting different cultures, animals and life cycles, farms, and ocean creatures.  We have several projects for the year which are culminations of different themes.  Some of our projects include building a mini town, pet show, and ocean dioramas.  We also build strong relationships with older students through many buddy activities.

Our writing is based on each theme, but also on California Common Core Standards.

We focus on the basics of writing and building stamina.  In reading, we focus on developing a love of reading by taking one step at a time and placing readers at their appropriate level.  The goal of Kindergarten is to begin a love of learning that carries them throughout school and beyond.
