At BSFCS the Spirit of Community and Family Involvement Thrives

Vision Statement: Bellevue-Santa Fe Charter School celebrates the joy of lifelong learning. Children and adults work together to create a safe, supportive, inspiring, and challenging school community where learning is optimized for every child.

A Community at Work:

At BSFCS, parents, grandparents, and other community members are not just welcomed; they are celebrated and encouraged to play an integral role in the students' educational journey. Step onto the campus at any time of the day, and you'll witness a remarkable sight – parents, grandparents, and local community members actively engaged in various aspects of school life. This deep involvement reflects the school's commitment to fostering a sense of togetherness and shared responsibility. Volunteers are the heartbeat of our school, and their dedication is nothing short of inspiring.

The Three C's: Commitment, Contribution, and Collaboration:

At BSFCS, volunteers adhere to the "Three C's": Commitment, Contribution, and Collaboration. These principles guide the actions of every individual who gives their time and energy to the school community.

1. Commitment: Volunteers at BSFCS are deeply committed to the success and well-being of each student. They understand the significance of their roles in shaping the learning environment and work tirelessly to support our children's academic and emotional growth.

2. Contribution: The contributions of volunteers are immeasurable. From assisting in classrooms to organizing extracurricular activities, their efforts enhance the educational experience for all students. Their contributions go beyond the conventional, creating a vibrant, collaborative, and engaging atmosphere at the school.

3. Collaboration: Collaboration is at the heart of BSFCS. Volunteers work closely with staff and each other to ensure a cohesive and effective educational environment. This spirit of collaboration extends beyond the walls of our school, fostering connections that benefit the school and the broader community.

Safety and Accountability:

To maintain a safe and secure environment for our students, all volunteers at BSFCS are required to undergo a thorough background check through the SLO County Office of Education. This commitment to safety ensures that our students receive the support they need from trusted individuals in our community.

Parent/Guardian Involvement in Policy and Decision-Making:

BSFCS goes beyond encouraging involvement; we actively empower parents and guardians to have a direct say in school policies and decisions. Three dedicated parents serve as members of the seven-person School Governing Board. This ensures that parents' voices are heard and have a meaningful impact on the school's direction.

Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to attend Governing Board meetings, offering them a platform to provide input, ask questions, and stay informed about school policies and initiatives. This open dialogue strengthens the partnership between the school and parents, fostering trust and transparency.

Community Insight through Town Hall Meetings:

To better understand the community's needs and desires, BSFCS hosts two Town Hall meetings each year. These gatherings provide an opportunity for parents, guardians, and community members to share their insights, ideas, and concerns. By actively seeking community input, the school can continuously adapt and improve, ensuring it remains a place where every student thrives.
